The Management of Yorkshire Office Furniture are committed to minimising the environmental impact of its companies activities by continuous improvement in environmental performance and will seek to develop an ethos of environmental responsibility in all of its employees and management of the company. The Management recognises that in purusing development there is an opportunity to protect its immediate environment and by exercising proper control over its activities. Yorkshire Office Furniture will actively promote the use of sustainable resources and discourage damaging of wasteful practices. Accordingly it is the policy of Yorkshire Office Furniture to:

Comply with all environmental legislation and take such environmental protection measure as it considers necessary.

Develop and maintain an environmental management system following the guidance of Iso 14001.

Manage and conserve energy and water efficiently within the company.

Promote awareness and understanding of environmental issues among all employees.

Reduce waste of natural resources, promote waste reduction and recycling.

Regulate all waste reduction and disposal and discourage litter and noise pollution.

Aim an eventual accreditation to a nationally of internationally recognised environmental standard as a benchmark of good environmental practice.

Ensure that the policy is communicated to all employees.

Use only products that have the lowest possible carbon footprint by using local supply chains. All suppliers and products are scrutinised thoroughly for environmental impact prior to becoming one of our partners.

We work closely with our manufacturers promoting sustainable materials such as biodegradable fabrics and MFC products that meet with the Forestry Stewardship Council to comply with British Standards. We actively promote the sale of formaldehyde free furniture to minimise the effects of formaldehyde on the environment.
